Rachel Halleen

Exercise Physiologist

NDIS, DVA, musculoskeletal, cancer, metabolic, cardiac, workscreen

Rachel joined 4 Life Exercise Physiology in February 2015. She completed her double degree in Sport Science and Exercise Rehabilitation at UWA in 2011 and has had a passion for helping others through means of exercise ever since. Rachel is experienced in musculoskeletal, cardiac and metabolic exercise rehabilitation and enjoys working with all populations, however, favours the elderly and those less able. She is the facilitator of the Cancer Council’s Life Now Program here in Mandurah and has a passion for helping cancer sufferers stay active during and post treatment.

Rachel believes there are two forms of free medicine that everyone can benefit from – that being exercise and laughter. When she isn’t with patients, you will often see Rachel walking the corridors with a water bottle or coffee in hand. If you don’t see her, you’ll most definitely hear her voice or laughter from afar. Rachel is a keen basketballer and is currently co-captain of the Mandurah Magic NBL1 team. She is an acai bowl enthusiast and loves an almond latte.

4 Things you might not know about Rachel:

  1. She has played >325 games in the SBL/NBL1 for Mandurah Magic and is honoured to be a Life Member of the club.
  2. She hates shower curtains and has a phobia of feet – hence she never studied physiotherapy and is happier when you keep your shoes on.
  3. Her party tricks are touching her nose with her tongue and she can recite the alphabet backwards.
  4. She has a love for travel but can also be a homebody at times. She has travelled to various parts of Europe, with the Amalfi coast and Croatia being highlights. She is looking forward to seeing Canada in the near future and returning to New Zealand for more bungee jumping, sky diving and adrenaline pumping adventures.
